We’re Alive

September 14, 2008

Were you worried about me?  I’ve been more busy living and less busy writing.  Even my ‘secret journal’ is lacking lately.

I’ll try to get on soon a post some pictures of what we’ve been doing.

Both the kids started Taekwondo a few weeks ago.  LOVING IT!  Now I have two kids that habitually answer, “Yes Ma’am/No Ma’am”.  When it’s time to pick up toys — they happily DO IT!  What the?!  This will be worth all the money in the world.

Daughter’s back in tumbling after taking the summer off.  She’s also getting busy with Girl Scouts again.  We couldn’t get her to do Soccer this year.  I promised I wouldn’t make her as long as she is staying busy with other things and she is.  Her bff moved to another town because her parents split up.  So now everytime hubs and I have an argue (often), she thinks we are going to split up.  Plus — she’s been having to deal with finding a new bff.  Very sad.

Son is patiently awaiting kindergarten.  He has been more focused this year than ever.  He has learned more in the past few weeks than we could teach him in the past few years.  A lot of his friends went to kindergarten this year but he wasn’t old enough.  I think that he thinks he is old enough — just didn’t pay enough attention to learning thus far.  I think he’s thinking if he learns everything in time, he can join his older buddies in K.  Not so.  But at least I’m not as worried about his learning capacity now.  I know he can if he wants to.

Did I tell you Daughter learned how to swim this year??  We had awesome babysitters and swimming lessons.  She didn’t trust me but she trusts a complete stranger.  Hmmph.  Oh well.  🙂  At least she can swim.  Son is well on his way.  Somehow he developed a fear of water at the last minute.  It took me by surprise because he never had a fear in him until this year.  Hopefully it will go as quickly as it came.

We’re still working on the whole bike riding thing.  Neither kid progressed on that this summer.  Daughter is still too afraid from when she fell and broke her arm.  Son can practically do it but his bike is sort of awkward for him.  Maybe Santa will bring him a new one.  It would probably ruin Daughter’s whole day if she woke up and saw a bike for her under the tree.  So hopefully Santa won’t bring her one.

I’ll have to fill you in on the rest later.

Love ya!
